ABOUT ME
GABRIEL TAKANG
My name is Gabriel Takang. I was born in Cameroon in Africa and migrated to Canada in 2006. I am married and living in York South-Weston, where I have been raising my kids for the past several years.
I have a bachelor’s degree in educational administration and a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in terrorism mediation and peace. Also, I have a professional background in policing investigations, public administration, projects and case management, public complaints administration, dispute resolution, the administration of court services and not-for-profit management.
Since 2007, I have been serving the African-Caribbean community, advising members on capacity building, government reforms, immigration, social responsibility, and public administration and policy.
I have helped created five local community associations that continue to carry out programs and/or activities that continue to help the youth of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) stay away from crime, learn leadership skills and social connection.
Through these associations, I have helped design activities and programs that continue to enable our youth cultivate a culture of friendliness, hard work, relationship building and community giving. Equally important, I have helped hundreds of new immigrants integrate in the Canadian society through similar programs.
It is based on these endeavors, that I am inspired to run for the upcoming October 24, 2022 Toronto Municipal elections for York South-Weston, Ward 5.
Our community needs effective representation at the Toronto City Council. We need a leader our community can trust and someone who can listen, and relate to the concerns of our community. When put to test, I am that leader.
My mission is to deliver effective professional public services to all residents of York South-Weston (Ward 5) and Toronto in general, while ensuring high value and quality results at all times.
So, I am asking for your votes. Together, let’s make a meaningful change.
